For the first time since the pandemic, the Chapter traveled to the Carlson Leadership Academy in force! With five leaders participating in the extensive 2-day training, the Chapter is in a better position than ever. Brother Cullen Nicely (VPP, Class of 2026) commented, “I almost learned too much. I have no idea how I am going to implement everything, but I for sure am going to try!” Some admitted to attending because they wanted to learn more about their positions, while others went for networking. Brother Teddy Poore (VPSLC, Class of 2023) stated, “The group I met here last year still talks to this day, and I wanted to meet more like-minded people.”
Carlson Leadership Academies allow the brothers to experience a small portion of what the national fraternity offers. From extensive leadership training to networking with brothers from other schools, everyone noted that problems faced at the University of Lynchburg are not unique. Chapters, big or small, often face the same issues. As Brother Dylan Dannecker (VPR, Class of 2023) put it, “I hate reinventing the wheel. Carlson allows me to learn from others and make my job easier.”
The brothers could not make the road trip without some good laughs, some late nights and memories that will last a lifetime. And a late night TopGolf run helps as well!
